In addition to portraits, I enjoy shooting landscape photography too, and that means photographing in less than ideal weather sometime. But usually, I try to ensure my portrait clients stay away from storms.
As soon as we got to the beach, we could see that it was getting dark a little early.
You can also check out some of my other Point Pleasant Family Photography sessions.
During this shoot there were some dramatic storm cloud rolling in. We weren’t in any danger of getting rained on quite yet so we took advantage of it.
Those dramatic clouds provided a great backdrop for the photos.
It also helped that this family was very well color coordinated. They weren’t dressed identically (which is a good thing) but they all looked good together in blue. That color works good for beach photos since it stands out from the sand.
When the sky conditions are like this or if there is a particularly nice sunset (or sunrise if you are an early riser) then I tend to shoot more wide angle “environmental” portraits like many of the shots you’ll see in this gallery.
